Which window are you trying to close? The one you opened or the one that opened it?

You can only close windows with JavaScript if they were created/opened/spawned by JavaScript in the first place.

So, the one you open can be closed but the one underneath can't. If you want to close the window you opened you need to give it a name to refer to it by. See main article for how.
