Jake according to your diagram are the kids going to stream the films over wireless? I doubt theres enough bandwidth for HD - especially if your going to stream more than 1 at once.
I opted for power plugs and the latest ones which run at 500Mbs to 1Gbs are pretty good - though no cheap when you start to add 4 or more. Don't go for the budget ones - they burn out and the last lot of budget 1Gbs I got from ebuyer wouldn't work if you had more than 2 on the network.
