  1. Without doubt .NET is the better career investment to make when you develop for corporate clients. I also agree with pretty much all your other reasons on how .NET is technically superior.

    However, I do not agree with your assesment on the geekiness of LAMP. I have seen it being used in large teams and use it myself a lot. It seems you are still doing old school LAMP hacking. With a proper setup (Zend studio, server-side debugging, source control and build scripts) none of the cryptic technologies you mention are ever needed to get anything. Visual Studio is still far better, but LAMP is not as geeky as you mention.

    I also would like to state that .NET deployment, source control, staging, building and deployment in total is more difficult and expensive than LAMP.

    I'm not defending any platform. I have always been multi platform. I just want to share my experiences with them.

    By the way, your excitement will crumble once you go Sharepoint. It is the most frustrating platform to develop for ever. If you think LAMP is geeky, you better get ultra geeky to work with Sharepoint.
