Don't forget one little item. Domino automatically generates the text and bgcolor attributes on the <BODY> tag. I know the guys at clear:left are into standards, and these attributes are not part of XHTML or HTML4.01.
This always annoyed the heck out of me, but in the end you have to take the good with the bad, don't you?
Also, I have always turned "use javascript ..." off in my databases to tighten up the code as suggested by Bo.
