Turns Out Breastfeeding is Not a Contraceptive

Life is pretty challenging chez Howlett at times, what with a little girl just turned 1 and a boy about to turn 3. So, you can imagine my reaction when Karen told me to sit down as she "had something to tell me". The news she was pregnant gave me as much a sense of fear as it did elation.

We always knew we'd have another. Just not quite as close together!

It's finally sinking in now (she told me about 2 months ago) although, really, I'm trying not to think about it. Which won't wash as it's due mid-February and I need to prepare myself for the changes it will bring about.

Not that I have anything to do before its arrival. Unlike the other two where I had to move my bedroom-office and then build a new one in the garage.

All I need to do is earn enough money to buy a new car. We'll be needing a seven-seater now. Not to mention needing to earn the money to cover yet more maternity leave for Karen. She'd only been back at work for two weeks when she found out!

One of the biggest challenges though is going to be agreeing on names. Karen is really keen on Casper, but I'm not so sure. Felix the cat, Minnie the mouse and Casper the ghost!?

Talking of Minnie Mouse:

Beg your pardon, that's Felix. Now there's a photo he'll hate me for posting on the internet in years to come. Muhahaha.

Here's the real mooshka, who just gets cuter by the day:

But, yeah, there you go. Third baby Howlett on its way!

    Jake,

Congrats.. Ha! Don't you know that Breast feeding is not a contraceptive !?! Besides, everyone knows that it's something in the water that causes pregnancy, or whose seat you sat in at work, even if you were a bloke, (but your wife gets pregnant as a result). ;)

  18. Congratulations to Howlett Family

  19. For Gods sake, Jake! Three wee bairns, you can't git yirself away from it, can't you?

Anyway, I bet you will have a lot of fun also with your mid-sized family then :-)

So get yourself a Tata Winger then, it won't be too expensive and you have still some seets left for the next ones...

I can safely say there's not a hope in hell of Karen agreeing to a Tata Winger Mark. It's all about looks for her and that is one ugly vehicle. Practical I'm sure and I'd consider it if any more come, but Karen is still campaigning for an Audi Q7. For which there's even less of a hope. Even if we could afford one it wouldn't fit down the drive way... a Nissan Qashquai+2 is looking promising for now.

  20. Congratulation Jake. We have three, you're in for some fun !

  21. Wonderful news! Now you're going to have a really full (and noisy, I bet :-D) home! Congratulations Jake!

  23. Much overdue and belated congratulations! It warms my heart to see your family growing. You are evidently becoming an apt journeyman in the baby making department. ;-)
