Back From Skopelos

We got back from the beautiful Greek island of Skopelos late last night having spent a week in our very own private villa.

If ever you're looking for a Greek island to visit I'd recommend this one. There's no airport, so you have to take an hour-long ferry ride from Skiathos. This means it's yet to be taken over by the beer-swilling tatooed Brits and is popular mostly with holidaying Greeks, which means it has remained quite traditional and quiet.

Here are some photos. Not many of the girls as they were always in bikinis and wouldn't be happy about me uploading them. It's mainly a load of Felix as he's so darn cute and I'm so proud. With his blonde hair and blue eyes he was the centre of attention wherever we went. Not that I minded - I don't think I'll ever tire of people cooing over him.

If you do ever go be sure to try the Skopelos Cheese Pie. It's a recipe for a heart-atack but tastes great. Greek food is one of the reasons I keep going back there. Fried aubergine featured on my diet daily. We're all on diets now we're home!

Now, back to the daily grind...

  1. I started perusing your photos (painful, seeing them while sitting in an office, I must say), and was wondering who that young girl, not Karen, was. Then it occurred to me - is that Quinn?!

I think she never aged in my mind, and I pictured her as a little girl. She's grown just like my own daughter - looking way too old and cute for anyone's good (at least to her parent's anyway ;-).

Welcome back. Thanks for sharing photos - it looked like a wonderful place to visit.

That young "girl" is indeed Quinn, who turned in to a teenager a few weeks ago.

She tends to look older than she is and often get looks from the *men*.

As a family we tend to get looks too, as you can tell people are trying to work out who Felix belongs to ;o)

Hahaha - time to start practising your evil glare for all those hormone driven teenage boys :D

That picture of Felix asleep on the beach is quite possibly the cutest thing I've seen all year.

  2. Wow - what an amazing place. I have to go before I die... which hopefully gives me many years to make arrangements. :-) What aside from cost could make you leave there? Thank you very much for sharing your vacation with us Jake.

You gave him ale?? Get that lad some bubble & squeak... proper nutrition Dad, please. ;-)
