All of my customers know about Rockall through reading this site. More often than not they are (dare I say it) ageing ex-developers who are moving towards more of management role.

Most have used this site at some point and see the benefit of its existence. Because of this they often want to pay it back. This normally means that they actively encourage me to share the code used on the project with the rest of you. Most times I don't even need to ask. The client will simply say something like "It goes without saying that you should post the code to codestore". It's always nice to hear that.

Rather than being faced with the ridiculous IPR approach of "everything you do belongs to us" I tend to find all my clients have no qualms at all about me sharing the code.

What I never talk about is either the client in question (without their permission) or the business processes involved. If you take away both of these then no harm can come to that company in letting me share the code with you. Can it?

As you can probably tell I'm quite busy at the moment. This might mean less blog entries but it should also mean lots of goodness to share with you once my workload lightens a little. Here's a taster of what might be to come:

• Using PDF Annotations in Domino with simple Web Services.
• Creating accessible data-driven drop-down menus with Domino views.
• Securing URLs with MD5 hashing algorithms.

Each of these probably means a full-blown article. In the mean time anything else I learn will appear here on the blog.

So, next time you're thanking me for posting a piece of code that's helped you out, remember to thank my clients too. Without them this site wouldn't exist.
