A New Life

Apparently a picture says a thousand words. So, I'll let this one do all the talking, as I can't really find the words.

Needless to say I am completely over the moon with joy and excitement.

    Congratulations!!!

Words of advice...Take LOTS of pictures!!!

    They grow up fast!!!

Also start them in a routine as soon as they are born & sleep will never be an issue for you!

I learned that after my first one.

Every night we would start about 15 minutes before time for bed in "Prepping" our other two children for the night. We would start out by talking to them & reading books while they were in their crib & then we would kiss them goodnight & walk out the door.

Yes it was hard to hear them cry, but after ten minutes they would be so tired they would fall asleep & each night that we would do that the crying became shorter & shorter until they just went to sleep. ;o)

Now they are 5, 4, & 2 and they ALL go to bed @ 8:00 pm & wake the next morning @ 7:30 am. I was a skeptic at first but now I am a FIRM Believer in routines for children!

Consistency, Stability, & Love is what every child needs.

I wish all 4 of you the very best!!!

    Nice one mate.

  43. @BabyJake

  44. Wow!!!

    Congrats Jake!

As for myself, unlike Ben, the first two weeks were harder than the entire pregnancy... but when your kid is sleeping in your arms, or when they learn to smile, there just isn't anything better!

Oh... I haven't seen this advice yet... I don't know what it's like over there, but if it's like the U.S., get a midwife or a dula for the birth. It makes a _huge_ difference to have someone like that in the room.

  45. Congratulations Jake :)

    Congratulations Jake!

Take tons of pictures coz that will give you comfort when you are really in bad mood because 'someone' starts talking about 'Rails' instead of 'Rails'. It is a fantastic feeling to be a parent [probably the best accomplishment ever]. Best of Luck!

    regards
