Thanks to David Churchland for treating me to O'Reilly's Windows XP Hacks - 100 Industrial-Strength Tips & Tricks. I've already seen a couple I am about to apply. Don't want to share any here though for obvious copyright reasons. If you want to get an idea of what's included, have a look at Annoyances.org.

It all reminds me of May 2001 when I actually wrote to O'Reilly. At the time I was going through a stage where I was thinking or writing a book. Foolishly, I had mentioned this to my dad, who then took every opportunity he had to remind me. It's a shame I never got round to it, as it really would make his day.

Part of the reason I never got round to writing anything was that, if I did write a book, I would really want it to be published by O'Reilly. You can see I like them.

Anyway, O'Reilly turned me down. Why? Because they "already have a book on Domino". The fact that it's an administrator's book and I was a developer seemed to pass them by. Instead of pointing this out I took the hint and forgot all about it. Now they have their new Hacks Series of books and the idea is back on my mind.

What could be a more fitting title for a book on Domino development than Lotus Domino Hacks?! Unearth shortcuts? Damnit, we've spent whole careers unearthing Domino's shortcuts!

Maybe it's time to get back in touch with O'Reilly? How long could it take to compile a list of 100 Domino hacks? Not long. Anybody interested in contributing if I get them to agree? You get credit for anything used of course.
