FeedDemon Release 1.0

FeedDemon Logo If you read a lot of blogs this will probably be the umpteenth time today they you've read about FeedDemon's final release. After what feels like years in beta it's now available to buy. I'm more excited by this than I was about the release of Domino 6. No, seriously, I am!

What is FeedDemon? It's a news aggregator! A news whatsy? Well, it's a nice and easy way to keep an eye on lots of sites, just like this one, that update on an frequent basis. If you read lots of them it soon becomes a chore to keep up. That's why sites like mine have an RSS feed. This lists the most recent updates I've made. Using a feed reader like FeedDemon you can keep an eye on this, and many other site's RSS feeds, for any changes. It makes your life a lot easier.

There are a lot of feed readers available but I choose to promote FeedDemon because I think it's amazing software. Written by the same man who brought us TopStyle, there's that certain feel of quality to it. Try the trial and see what I mean. No, I've not been bribed!

Over the weekend I will pass on what Christopher Arras and I have come up with to make keeping up with the Domino scene a lot easier. Before then, give yourself an early Christmas treat and buy a copy of FeedDemon.

I have enjoyed using both FeedReader (simple) and FeedDemon (high-end), but do you know how I found out about this codestore post? Through www.bloglines.com. It has evolved a lot this year, and it is now my preferred solution because as I bounce from computer to computer (and OS to OS), I can feed read on the fly. You can even share your read list with others!

  1. Yup, I must concur about FeedDemon. I had been singing the praises of FeedReader for quite a while, then bought NewzCrawler...but ever since hearing of and trying FeedDemon, I've been hooked. Brilliant interface.

Hmmm...but now I must have a look at bloglines; I'd not heard of that.

  2. Nice software but I had some issues with it {Link} did anyone else? Or maybe these are ironed out in the final release?

Does anyone uses the Page Minder from the personal web navigator?? Does anyone use the web navigator at all??? I think one could do some nice things with it, maybe build a news aggregator by yourself? But I never saw this db in action (in spite of caching pictures from html mails)

It will be very interesting to see what you will be doing with Christopher Arras. I bought FeedReader some time ago, but I have had it turned off for a few months now. I used it to monitor a number of sites, but there is so much activity, that I can't keep upwith the feeds! So on a daily basis I check your site, a couple of others, then I head straight for news4notes.

Mike. Your issues are still there. I think the lack of groups is something to do with the limitatiosn of OPML. Read something about it somewhere but can't remember.

The "info bubble" thing is probably somethig Nick is open to suggestions on. Send him a mail, he's normally quite good at responding. Or log on to his new server new.bradsoft.com.

    jake,

if its not too confidential can you publish the list of sites you visit with feeddemon?

i absolutely love codestore and notestips.com. but i dont know if there are more out there ( not necessarily for domino, could be for css, or java or anything related to domino ) which i am not aware of.

btw, thanks for your idea on disabling javascript, on the script debugger for IE. that was the only way out.

    thanks
