So the Notes.net Forum has email notifications now then does it. About time. Some of us were doing that eons ago. If it weren't for memory holes in Domino's Java implementation I'd probably still have it...

For those who mailed about JSP Support in Domino 6 (or R6, who really cares!?), my understanding is that Domino 6 will come with a set of Tag Libraries with which you can write JSP pages for Domino. In order to run these you will also need a WebSphere/Tomcat equivalent running on the server. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Last week Dad asked me to donate money online, on behalf of my Grandma, at Landmines.org.uk. Should be easy enough I thought. However, after three attempts at filling in ALL of my information only to be returned an ASP/SQL error upon clicking submit, I decided to mail their support team. Not as easy as it sounds. Finding the mailto link on that site is a nightmare. When I finally managed to mail them the mail was returned with an "unknown error".

As if that's not bad enough I told my dad he might want to ring and explain "his"/their problem. He was told two things.

  1. The web server must have been down.
  2. I must have typed the wrong email address.

Now, admittedly, my dad isn't the most net savvy person in the world and probably didn't do their problems justice. This though isn't the point. He is typical of most internet users nowadays. Sad but true.
