Fix for buggy Windopws WEBDAV implementation

According to Wikipedia, the WEBDAV implementation inside Windows Explorer is "sub par" to put it friendly.
What worked for me (on XP) was adding a ":80" to the hostename like http://www.example.com:80/dir/db.nsf$files
This way, Windows behaved and did not prompt me for a Windows-Account, but for web credentials.
