I know I am late to the party but I have been banging my head on this one and finally figured it out...
Solution, create a Java Applet Rich Text field above the fields that the users will be editing. On the html attributes of this field add:
"height = \"0\" width = \"0\""
On the hide/when property of the field check:
"Previewed for Reading" "Opened for Reading" "Printed"
Save and try it...
