As I understand it it's something like side-bands on citizen band radio without the potential for bleed over. Sort of a parallel data universe existing in the same space as this universe... sort of one set of data occupying the empty spaces between the "molecules" of another. At least, that's how I sleep at night knowing that there is such a thing as a sub-net mask.
