I found the answer - in the Inline Response instructions!
The Save button needs to be pass-thru html -
like this:
<input type="button" value="Save" onclick="this.form.submit()" />
The Inline.nsf sample database Save button uses:
@Command([FileSave]);
@Command([FileCloseWindow]);
