Jake, I have to disagree. We've just built a CRM application for a large
International Bank. One of the key features of the system is that every field
label on every form (and this comes to over 200 field labels) are user
configurable. These field labels often change - to start with the label might
be "Customer Number:". A few months later, throughout the organisation, this
might for some reason be known as something else ("Customer Account Number" or
something). We've given the System Administrators full control over these
field labels and they really appreciate the fact that no design changes are
required when they need to change.
