@Jake: Multimedia Explorer IS available. It's just very old, and was never supported on Windows XP (or newer). If you go to the site (http://www.moonsoftware.com/mxplorer.asp) and follow the download link, there is a link to legacy software. There it still endures.
Now I am going to be brave and try it on Windows 7-x64.
