That's all great in theory but in practice the upgrade to the 8.5 version (notes client) also means that many pc's would need hardware upgrade, which would mean a hell of a cost that most companies, under this crisis, cannot afford.
And there's a learning curve with xPages, it takes time to explore this new development environment - and that's something that can't be afforded either when there's only two developers to support dozens of application on a +5k user base (my reality)...
