It's supported and even is an IBM product (LWI). I think you can view it as, more or less, a web profile implementation of JEE 6. I won't be surprised if Domino is becoming more and more JEE aware...but keeping it's "RAD" flavor
Not to say that we should not look at other web frameworks...(in which you won't miss a "Designer" anyway cause you basically end up in a notepad world there hehehe)
