I have a stock sample app that I can plug this into. It was only on my mind
since a javascript calendar that we had been using at work had the IE
controls/z-index issue. Nobody noticed until it got used on a more crowded
form.
The shim is pretty simple to implement, and has become so common that few see
it as the hack that it is. It does feel "icky".
