And in those situations, when you deal with a decent vendor (like IBM), they tend to provide a smoother path to evolve...while, in opensource world, you often deal with RnR ...meaning rip and replace in this case ;)
5 years ago, every one was doing Struts too...now it's a hard time finding valuable people to maintain those apps due to it's "has been" factor.
Anyway, I agree with you on the fact that RoR is a great peace of software. Just trying to say the world is not black or white.
