I've had a pretty good experience with my Dell ZinoHD. It's basically a plain old PC, but it's in a very small box, and has HD out. WMC7 covers just about everything on your list, and if you add a TV card, it'll take care of your live TV, too.
Some tinkering is required, but you're good with that, and it's part of the fun.
