  1. Hi Jake,

I read your web site for a long time and have great respect for you as a Domino developer. I have been reading through this since yesterday and gonna put my thought as well probably not in one reply...

Just curious, when you encounter situations like this (eg: your own customer moving to MS) is it not possible to have a detailed discussion with the customer about their reasons for moving to SP and try to educate them a little more about Lotus itself. In that sense, it becomes much more clearer even for you to understand the exact reasons of moving and pitch the right solutions in this case may be Domino itself. Who knows, after you share about insights of Lotus technologies (the present and upcoming) they might stick with the current platform itself.

While i don't know the exact situation with you there, i am saying my opinion and in cases where you think probably you need little more assistance you can also take the local IBMer along to talk about the benefits of staying with Lotus etc.. I believe if BP's request for it, am sure they will turn up. To what extent that is gonna help depends on the relationship IBM has got with the customer base and providing the right answers for the business problems.

Cos, the way i read it your thoughts is more on a developer perspective but i think at times that itself may not be sufficient we probably have to play a little bit of consultative role and a bit of sales guy too :) One option is what i have stated above.
