Ok with a bit of search, i finally found a workaround. The problem is the
HTMLAREA overwrites anything on the onsubmit event to call his own stuff.
It also calls your own function(s)... but does not handle any return value.
the solution is to modify the htmlarea.js file to return what was returned by
the onsubmit functions.
I found this solution in a very interesting list of solutions for different
