sorry Jake, I didn't mean you personally.
I was expressing exasperation that every single post has the presumption of a
form being used --due to their mentioning creation of fields.
By the pervasive mention of "creating fields", it is unlikely people will just
try it anyway.
You can see Les on NotesNet made the same asumption.
Here is what I was looking for:
Thank you, Les. FYI, Here is the answer I was really looking for:
No form or field is required at all for OpenAgent command.
Apparently, OpenAgent generates the documentcontext CGI variables on its own
--Only one item in Help documentation actually says so:
"For an agent run from a browser with the OpenAgent URL command, the in-memory
document is a new document containing an item for each CGI (Common Gateway
Interface) variable supported by Domino. Each item has the name and current
value of a supported CGI variable. (No design work on your part is needed; the
CGI variables are available automatically.)"
OH, I LOVE that last sentence!
To corroborate, Chris King responded to my post with:
"You can use session.documentcontext.Query_String_Decoded(0) without ever
creating a form in the database. This is very easy to test and has always
worked for me."
