debugger is not working as described

re:If you click Yes the Script Debugger window will open and take you to the
line of code that is causing problems.<br/>
After first install, debugger opend but the window that should have contained
the code was empty.<br/>
So I check the (advanced>option labled "display a Notification about every
script error"
this got me to the "before installing the script debugger example" How do I
get it to function as it did in the article?<br/>
IE Version 6.0.2800 and the debugger docs say it is designed for
IE4.<br/>Suggestions please.
