NotesException: Could not get IOR from Domino Server: Invalid IOR null

Synopsis

When create a remote session from Java, using the servername "abc/domain" comes up with the above error. Replacing the server name with the ip addresses, fixes this.

The other reasons are said to be, when the diiop process is not running on the server, the above error occurs.

Solutions

Trying to see if this goes to you now.

The value of this hostname is the DNS hostname NOT the Lotus Server and Domain name ! If you use something like server27/mydomain in Lotus will work, but in Java IIOP connection will fail !! For the Java connection you MUST use the DNS hostname like server27.production.org ok ! :) And of course the IP will work since it will skip the DNS lookup and make the TPC/IP connection directly ! ;)

AND Do not forget to start the DIIOP Task in the Domino Server !!!! ;)
